Celebrating Wins at the Colorado State Fair -Fine Art Exhibit
This year’s Colorado State Fair was a whirlwind of creativity, connections, and unforgettable moments! I’m thrilled to share that my painting, "Majestic Journey: Royal Gorge Railway," not only captured hearts but also won a Special Sponsor Award at the Fine Art Exhibit. To top it all off, I sold my very first painting at the fair! I apologize for the delay in sharing this update; some family medical issues with my husband have kept me preoccupied. Nevertheless, I couldn’t wait any longer to reflect on this incredible experience and the journey that led me here.
The Inspiration Behind "Majestic Journey: Royal Gorge Railway"
The Royal Gorge Railway is a breathtaking experience that showcases Colorado’s diverse natural beauty. The inspiration for my painting came during a hike to Canon City, CO overlooking the Royal Gorge, where the majestic cliffs and the winding river left me in awe. I aimed to capture the vibrant colors and the feeling of adventure that the railway embodies. The painting serves as a tribute to this iconic landmark, and I’m ecstatic that it resonated with so many others at the fair.
Recognition
Being recognized with a Special Sponsor Award at the Colorado State Fair was a surreal moment for me. The exhibit was filled with talented artists and their stunning works, so to stand out among them is an honor I will cherish forever. The award reflects not only my passion but also the countless hours spent honing my craft. It feels like a validation that I’m on the right path, and I’m incredibly grateful to the sponsors and judges who appreciated my work.
Reflecting on the Experience
Participating in the Colorado State Fair Fine Art Exhibit was an enriching experience. The atmosphere was filled with creativity and passion, and I had the opportunity to connect with fellow artists and art enthusiasts. I was also able to engage with visitors, share the story behind my painting, and receive invaluable feedback. This experience has not only enhanced my skills but has also fueled my passion for creating more art.
Navigating Life’s Challenges
As I mentioned earlier, my posting comes a bit late due to some family medical issues with my husband. While I won’t delve into the specifics, I want to express my gratitude for the understanding and support I’ve received from friends, family, and my art community during this challenging time. Art has always been a source of solace and expression for me, and it has become even more meaningful as I navigate these personal challenges. The encouragement I’ve received from fellow artists and patrons at the fair has truly lifted my spirits and reminded me of the importance of community.
Looking Ahead: Future Projects and Goals
With the momentum from the fair and the recent events in my life, I am more motivated than ever to continue creating. I have several ideas brewing for new projects that I can’t wait to explore. Whether it’s capturing more of Colorado’s breathtaking landscapes or experimenting with different mediums, I feel inspired to push my artistic boundaries. I also plan to participate in more art shows and exhibitions, hoping to connect with more art lovers and share my journey. Each experience is a stepping stone, and I look forward to what the future holds as I continue to grow as an artist.
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, thank you for your continued support on MY majestic journey.
