From Far-Fetched Dream to Studio Walls
A couple of years ago, we went to the First Friday ArtWalk in Old Colorado City, just to wander and soak in the local art scene. I remember walking into a space called Second Floor Studios and thinking… This would be SOOOOOOOO Cool.
At the time, it felt so far out of reach.
A quiet wish I never really said out loud.
I didn’t see a path to something like that—just admiration and that little ache of “maybe someday.”
Fast forward to 2025—after losing my mom, something shifted in me. I felt this pull, this drive, to stop waiting for the perfect time and just… make it happen. So we went back to Old Colorado City. We walked the same streets, visited the same building. And incredibly, there was a sign in the window: “Studio for Rent.”
I hesitated.
The old doubts crept in.
But Mike looked at me and simply said, “Call. Just see.”
So I did.
And just like that… I got it.
That far-fetched dream is now a space I walk into every week—full of paint, purpose, and possibilities. It’s not just a studio. It’s a piece of healing. It’s momentum. It’s a promise to myself that I won’t keep shrinking or waiting.
I share this with so much gratitude—and as a gentle nudge to anyone out there with a dream they’re holding onto:
You never know when the “maybe someday” becomes right now.
