Conquering Fear: My First Art Show at the Local Art Guild

I did it! After years of letting my fears hold me back, I finally pushed past them and entered my first art show at the local Art guild. And let me tell you, it was the best decision I’ve ever made.

I submitted 5 of my paintings, each one a piece of my heart and soul. I met new people as I was completing my artwork intake forms, received compliments, and had new doors open for volunteer opportunities. As I walked into the gallery and saw my work hanging on the walls, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over me. It was a feeling I had never really experienced before, and it was truly exhilarating. The type of exhilarating where you are in a bit of a fog and forget most of what is happening around you because you are jumping with joy inside and that’s all you can concentrate on…. yes, that type of exhilarating.

And to top it all off, I couldn’t have asked for a better Mother’s Day. The support and encouragement from my husband and family, as well as the other artists at the guild, was overwhelming. It felt like a dream come true to be surrounded by so much love and positivity.

Entering the art show was a huge step for me, but it was also a necessary one. It pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to confront my fears head-on. And you know what? I’m glad I did! Because now, I feel like I can do anything!

So here’s to pushing past our fears, taking risks, and chasing our dreams. It may be scary, but the rewards are so worth it. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me next! Wish me luck!
